HKIRC Appoints Wilson Wong Ka-wai as Chief Executive Officer

HONG KONG, 28 February 2019 - Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited ("HKIRC") today announced the appointment of Mr. Wilson Wong Ka‑wai as the Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 March 2019. As the CEO of HKIRC, Mr. Wong will be responsible at the highest level for furthering HKIRC's mission to promote Hong Kong as an international centre of e-commerce, and to encourage a better understanding and more effective use of the Internet and related technology in Hong Kong and across the region.

Mr. Simon Chan, Chairman of HKIRC, welcomed the new appointment as a significant step forward for the company development. "We are delighted to have Mr. Wong taking up the helm. He brings an exceptional track record in areas that are important for us, and has proven skills in multi-level management. His record in fostering growth and enhancing performance is second to none. Mr. Wong is a seasoned professional within the IT industry, with over 20 years of management experience in the field. Before joining HKIRC, he was the General Manager of IT Industry Development Division of Hong Kong Productivity Council ("HKPC"). Prior to that, he was the Managing Director of SAP Hong Kong and held various key management positions in Microsoft Hong Kong.

Mr. Wong holds an EMBA from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a degree in Computer Science from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
